Dr. Cline was born in Budapest, Hungary on October 17, 1922 and came to America at the age of 10 months with his mother, Margaret Cline, and older brother, Paul Cline. His father, Dr. Alexander Cline, had come to America nine months earlier. The family settled down in Buffalo, N.Y. Dr. Cline went to the University of Buffalo Medical School. He took an internship at Baltimore City Hospitals and completed his radiology residency at E.J. Meyer Memorial Hospital in Buffalo. He was in the Army Reserve when WWII broke out and was called to active duty. He was in medical school in uniform as a member of the (ASTP) Army Specialized Training Program. He went back in the Army during the Korean War and was Chief of Radiology at Camp McCoy in Wisconsin and then was sent to Europe and became an Associate Radiologist at the 5th General Hospital in Stuttgart, Germany. After the Korean War he came to Atlanta and was Associate Radiologist at Georgia Baptist Hospital from 1954-1963. He then became Chief of Radiology at South Fulton Hospital when it opened in 1963 and remained there until he retired in 1988. Dr. Cline was a member of Druid Hills Country Club for 53 years. He was an average golfer but then turned to tennis where he remained active until he was 80 years old. In addition to tennis, he enjoyed reading, movies, traveling and especially loved to play poker and bridge.
